With God

The zen feeling of meditation, when your thoughts stand still and you feel connected to God and the Universe. Peace. This is what I wanted to create in this textile work. It´s a rare experience, difficult to catch. And maybe I didn´t catch it? Maybe you see something else?
Handstiching the hundres of small knots certainly brought me peace. The blue silk fabric (originally a shawl my mum bought for me in Thailand) is machine stitched to purple linen. In between there is a layer of vlieseline, to bring stability. The work has then been stitched to black cotton, which is wrapped around a handmade wooden frame (made by Kristian), and fastened with stitches.
It is ready to hang on the wall.
While I´ve done my best to make the colors look accurate and true in the photos, you might find that they differ slightly.

Materials: Silk, cotton, linen, embroidery thread, beads.
