Do you love Mediterranean food?

Well, who doesn´t!

Not only is the Mediterranean kitchen considered one of the best in the world, but the Mediterranean diet is also rated the world´s healthiest.

Join us for a hands on Mediterranean cooking class on our farm in Alpujarra (situated two hours drive from Malaga). We will dive into the principals of the Mediterranean kitchen, you will learn more about the health benefits of this diet and how you can intergrate this way of cooking at home. Together we´ll cook a lovely meal and enjoy it together with natural wine from our bodega.

The menu will vary according to the season. We  always aim at using local, seasonal ingredients plus ingredients from the farm, like almonds, figs, olives, herbs and and wild growing saphron. The meal is accompanied by our own natural wine.

Classes are held in English or Norwegian, but Tove also speaks Greek and French and is learning Spanish, so might be able to support in these languages, as well.

If you have food allergies or intolerances, please inform us in advance, so we can adjust the menu.

Location

The food and the wine are not the only reason to visit us. Most of our guests are breathtaken by the stunning mountain views, including views to the highest peak of the Sierra Nevada, Mulhacin.

We are located only two hours from Malaga (one hour and 15 minutes from Granada), but the scenery is so different one sometimes wonder if it´s the same country. Alpujarra is especially know for its Moorish history and the traditional white villages, good foood and wine – something we try to build on.

Our cortijo is a typical Alpujarran farm, where we produce natural wine, as well as growing almonds, figs and olives. It is situated on 1050 meters above sea level, at the end of a rather steep gravel road, taking off from A348.

As not all our guests are comfortable driving in the mountains, you can park at the parking lot by A348 and we will pick you up there (let us know in advance).

 About

Food should be easy and fun to make, make you feel good and support your health! And it should – most importantly – taste great.

Born in Norway, but I have spent almost half my life in Mediterranean countries: France, Greece and now (since 2022) in Spain. Especially my 20 + years in Greece became an eye opener when it comes to food. I learned to cook from scratch from my Greek mother in law and sister in law, and discovered that it was both easier and quicker than I anticipated. I learned about the importance of using seasonal, local products, that vegetarian food can taste gorgeous and I learned to use herbs and plants growing wild.

Eventually, I pursued a bachelor in nutrition. I have written several books about Greece and Greek food, as well as the ebook Two weeks with Mediterranen food, get started on the world´s most healthy diet (Sorry, in Norwegian only). I have held courses in Mediterranean cooking all over Norway and been featured on national Norwegian television, in magazines and newspapers. You find my blog here.

I want to share my passion for the Mediterranean kitchen with you. Show you that you can eat like a Greek, Croat or Spaniard wherever you live, using your own local ingredients. Join the cooking class and learn how.
